First prize winners in the 2011 Royal Overseas League Competition and winners of the 'Special Prize' at the 2011 Premio Paolo Borciani International String Quartet Competition, the Cavaleri Quartet made their Wigmore Hall debut in 2010 and their Southbank debut at the Purcell Room in 2008 as Park Lane Group Young Artists. Most recently, the quartet was selected for the Countess of Munster Recital Scheme, for 2011 / 12.

The Cavaleris have performed extensively throughout London and the UK, with appearances in the Wigmore Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Purcell Room, Conway Hall, Cadogan Hall and King's Place. Further afield they have performed in the Rachmaninov Hall, Moscow, and at the Teatro Monumental, Madrid, for the 'Solistas del Siglo XXI' series, broadcast live on Radio Clasica, Spain.

Appointed as Leverhulme Junior Fellows in Chamber Music at the Royal College of Music in 2010/11, the Cavaleris continue their studies with Günter Pichler of the Alban Berg Quartet at the Instituto Internacional de Musica de Camara, Madrid, as Albeniz Foundation Scholars. In April, 2011, they attended the International Musician's Seminar at Prussia Cove, studying with Erich Hobarth of the Quatuour Mosaiques and pianist Andras Schiff.

Notable performances of contemporary works include the chamber music of Mark Anthony Turnage for the 2008 BBC Proms 'Composer Portraits' series and the UK premiere of Sir John Tavener's 'Towards Silence', in collaboration with the Medici Quartet, both of which were broadcast on BBC Radio 3. The recording of 'Towards Silence' was released in 2010 on the Signum Classics label. They returned to the Southbank in October 2009 for a performance of Maxwell Davies' Quartet No. 4 for the festival celebrating the composer, 'Max at 75', at the Purcell Room. This was closely followed by an appearance at the Royal Festival Hall for the Schnittke 'Between Two Worlds' Festival, where they performed Schnittke's Third Quartet. Their performance of Lachenmann's Quartet 'Grido' at the RCM 'Transcendant' Festival received critical acclaim.

Festival appearances include the Harrogate International Festival, Salisbury International Festival, Mostly Mozart at the Barbican, King's Lynn, Stratford-on-Avon and Chichester Festivities. They enjoy an ongoing collaboration with the clarinettist Emma Johnson MBE after first appearing with her at the Honiton Festival in 2008.

The quartet began its training at the Royal College of music where they were awarded the Helen just and Susan Connell prize for chamber music. They have received coaching and guidance from members of the Alban Berg, Brodsky, Chilingirian, Endellion, Maggini and Medici Quartets and have performed in masterclasses with Gabor Takacs-Nagy and members of the Amadeus, Arditti, Keller and Vermeer Quartets.
